Best Depression Treatment

DepressionIn more recent times, natural Cures for depression have experienced a tremendous surge in popularity, largely because of the fact that so many depression prescription drugs are known to have potentially dangerous side effects. Furthermore, apart from the fact that some of the antidepressant drugs are known to cause chemical dependency, many people have found that when they stop taking them, they become more depressed than what they were before they started. Okay, let's go ahead and take a look at a few of the most popular Natural Remedies which are often recommended for the treatment of depression, anxiety, and a host of other related conditions.

St. John's Wort is perhaps one of the most common herbal remedies being used for treating depression. In fact, it is so effective that many refer to it as being natural Prozac. Furthermore, apart from the fact that some people may be allergic to the active ingredient, and the fact that it can make your skin hypersensitive to sunlight, it has no known side effects.
Hops

This is another herb which is known to have a noticeable calming effect, and as such, it is often taken in order to treat anxiety, tension, restlessness, nervousness, and even certain sleeping disorders. As many people will more than likely know, it is also a common ingredient in beer, although that's not to say that if you suffer from Depression you should go out and consume vast quantities of your favorite beer.

Passion Flower

The calming effect of passion flower has been known for longer than most would care to remember, and to this day, people still rate it very high in terms of being able to treat depression, as well as a range of other conditions such as anxiety and stress. Interestingly enough, it has often been said that passion flower is a natural tranquilizer, hence the reason why it is sometimes taken in order to help overcome insomnia.

Gingko Biloba

This herb is extremely well known for its powerful antioxidant qualities and its ability to help neutralize harmful free radical cells in the body. It is often recommended to people suffering from depression due to the fact that it promotes mental stability and alertness. Additionally, it is known to improve short-term memory and enhance circulation. Taken in conjunction with ginger, this herb is used primarily for treating anxiety and stress, although it is also beneficial in terms of alleviating other Symptoms of depression as well.

Chamomile

As with passion flower, chamomile also has tranquilizing qualities, and as such, it is often recommended for the treatment of insomnia which has been brought about due to anxiety. Furthermore, it can also be taken to improve digestion and to offer relief from nausea.

Kava Kava

Dec 29, high histamine depression : Symptoms.

High Histamine Depression

DepressionMy first allergic reaction was eczema, which began when I was a 4 yo. At 16, I developed chronic sinusitis. I had many allergy tests over the years, but totally gave up on them after wildly different results, from tests done one week apart, when I was 27yo. I have never suspected that I have a high histamine Depression.  I had always been a tired person but on reaching my 30's I was chronically exhausted. At this time what was previously minor anxiety, became overwhelming and life became a very arduous burden. I just ate, slept and worked, no social life at all because i had no energy and my nerves were shattered. I tried many natural therapies and supplements and finally gave in and began taking SSRI's after being forced to sell my business. When they helped a little, I accepted that I had Depression. Finally at 48yo I found an amazing Dr who diagnosed me with histamine. High histamine Causes,an anxious, exhausted type of depression. Does this (High Histamine) strike a chord with anyone?
